Monday July 17
We had volleyball tonight. Now of course we lost all three games, but yet this was not the worst part of my night. How could it be worse?
Well open exiting the building, I could not find my car. Not because I was re-living a seinfeld moment and was in a huge parking garage. No, No… because my car was towed. Yes Towed but by the NYPD.
Now I was waiting till I had my pics of the signs uploaded to write about this so you could fully understand the injustice, but the BF brought it to my attention that I have neglected y’all for too long.

So here is the tale:
I come out of V-ball to see no Athena. Now I am not 100% sure it was towed and not stolen. So first I look for a ticket or note on the meter telling me it was towed. Of course there is nothing.
Then I see a passing cop and ask him what to do. Turns out, not really a cop but a security guard for the place next door.
I call 311 and this is the beginning of the exchange:

Me :“Hi, I wanted to know if you can tell me if my car was towed or if I should report it stolen.” Yes not the best way to formulate the question, but I was little in shock, it does not however explain the response…
311 Operator: “ Ma’am [I am going to let this go] is this the first time you are reporting this vehicle today” Um.. if I already reported it, wouldn’t I know what the heck happened???
Me: “Yes, I cam and found my car missing, and I didn’t want to call the police and fill out a report if it was really towed”
311: “Well I can transfer you to a number and they may be able to tell you if it was towed”

So he transfers me and its whole to-do automated thing. Basically my car was towed. So I find out where and we start walking towards it.
Its like 8:30 ish now and I am wondering if they will be open. So I call. No answer, but a voice mail that says, “ Leave a message with your name, a phone number and your vehicle license plate and we will get back tot you within 24 hours” So I did…

THEY HAVE NOT YET CALLED ME BACK!!!

I call my brother who has had this happen to him, although he was towed to a different place. He thinks they are closed and if not they will close at 9. So the BF (who has been amazingly supportive) and I hail a cab and jet down to the “pound” on 34th and the west side highway (brings back bad Bar memories, which reminds me… GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE TAKING THE BAR!!! Stop studying NOW! And go to a movie!). Turns out, they are open 24 hours. After this the process is relatively painless.
In about 30 min I am back in my car.

If you have never been it is interesting. The hold a few hundred cars in this large hangar type place, that is so big I had to be driven in the police van to my car.

Of course I am going to fight it!
Wish me luck…
Oh yeah and GO SPIKED PUNCH!!! (please)

Jokes On Me

I had to make a call today for some lawyer listing service. Really irrelevant. I didn’t know the # so my boss gave it to me. Now its 1800 number. So I call, and this is what I hear, “Hi! Come party with us! For fun call 1800-5551212 (not right number)” So I call again, thinking I must have dialed wrong.
No, same message.
So I intercom the boss. I say ha ha, very funny, now can I have the right one.
You have to understand we throw paper-airplanes and shoot rubber band at each other, so its not beyond belief that he would do this.
Turns out, he didn’t. He inverted the last four numbers. I called 4401 and the number was 4041. He apologized, but we all got a good laugh.

Got any funny work tales?

Man's Best Friend

First I must say that I hate the rain. Especially driving in it. I mean the downpours are awful!

Last night I met Ray for a date. We went to din and then watched Josh Sh’s wedding Dvd. Or as much as we could handle without a fast forward button. Long story involving someone named Spam and YU and the missing remote control. Its really not worth it.

In other breaking news~~the Aussie got engaged and so did D, Ray’s roommate! (the only good D in my life!) Soooooooo happy. Its like engagement fever!

I had mentioned over the weekend to the BF how I wanted a dog. Not right away but eventually. So does my Bro and His Ms. K (as she will now be referred) is having none of that. I even had a name, I was going to call it CrackHead in honor of many a fun times (not involving elicit drug use! What would the Bar people say? but in all seriousness I never did drugs, it’s a joke) and call it Cracky for short. Hey, if Ray can have “CrackGrandma” I can have Cracky the dog. My bro wants to name his imaginary never to be in existence dog, Tushy which is cute and totally apropos. I hear Adam Sandler named his dog Matzoth Ball. Confirmation from you Celebrity Stalkers is welcome.

Anyway the BF is anti dog or any pet, well I think fish are ok, so he is trying to convince me of that. In his great marketing plan, he enlists the use of a decoy. He bought me the cutest little stuffed Dalmatian ever. I of course named it CrackHead, but I call it Cracky for short.

I forgot to take a pic of my beloved Cracky, so I searched online for something remotely similar and this is what I found:Cracky's Cousin
Its soft and cuddly, and this is probably the most girly post I have ever written.

So, last week Spiked Punch lost badly in the playoffs. Now I will not assign blame, but lets say I had a great game and someone else on my Team, We will call him Mr. C who thinks he is g-d's gift to the game, messed up a lot.

So, at the end of the game when we were all dejected and pissed he tried to tell me all the things I did wrong. SO I LET IT RIP! I was in no mood, especially when I, and I think most of my team mates felt it was really him who did us in. Do not get me wrong is not bad, but he is a HUGE ball hog which is not good in this sport. Yeah so I respectfully let him have it. For those of you who remember, Ala a Lou and I fight :-) ah memories.

So the new season started last week and we were civil to each other, I actually think he is a little afraid of me, which isn’t so bad. We didn’t play well. But then again we have a lot of new players so I hope we do well this season. I am thinking of it as the practice season anyway. Fall is the big leagues.

We did a whole new rotation and I think it will really work. We just need to practice. I need to learn how to set and the BF must learn to Bump, but he is an AMAZING net player. Mr. C needs to learn to share and play as a team. I think we have our work cut out for us, but nothing we can't handle.

For those of you fasting, have an easy and meaningful one. For those of you who don’t understand what I am talking about remember to hydrate, drink before you feel thirsty and you will be fine in the heat. For those of you who understood what I meant, but are not fasting… I am jealous, sorta.

All in all, HAPPY THURSDAY!
*p.s. AC has not happened and I do not think it will be this weekend or in the near near future.

SUPER DUPER BLOG ENTRY*

Yeah, its been a while, and boy have things been happening.
So lets take em one by one…

FRIDAY JUNE 30
Got out of work early. Which was really nice. Nothing else special to recall.

SATURDAY JULY 1
Went to see the Devil Wears Prada with Nacho, Shan, and the BF. Loved the movie. Still debating if it was better than the book or not. Props to the man for joining three women in the chick flick and scoring some of us free tkts. Or should I thank slick deals?

SUNDAY JULY 2
Morning was basically spent during errands. Then we had a BBQ and the BF and I watched the Yankees KILL the Mets at Yankee Stadium. It was a great game. Brings new meaning to the slogan,” No lead is safe with the Mets”
The fun times did not stop with the professionals on the field, no no.
First the game was rain delayed. Then when it finally started we learned that we were in the middle of quite a rowdy bunch of people. We saw some “police brutality” as they broke up a fight really close. Then the women in front of us kept yelling at people to sit down because they were blocking her view. The Guy behind us to the right was annoyed at her yelling, and the man to our left and behind us was drunk and just overall interesting to watch. But even better was that we learned he is a Tax Attorney at KPMG. So of course I got his # and I hope to call him today. [In this situation getting a mans # is acceptable for many reasons, 1) the BF was there and approved, 2) The man is married 3) its for a job, and 4) he is nasty, ugly and weird.]
Since the game was pretty much a shut out [16-7 I believe was the final] by the time we left at the end getting out of the parking lot was a breeze.

MONDAY JULY 3
We were invited to spend the day on my boss’s boat in Montauk. The BF picked me up and we drove the 3 hours. We did not get lost or hit traffic. But the main way to get there is Route 27 which is sunrise highway, and that far out it becomes one lane with a light so that is annoying.
We got there and hung out on the boat for a bit. The boss made some good pina coladas. Then the women went to the pool and the boss took the BF on his little boat, which is called “Too fast For You” and all I can say is that everyone came home alive. I assume the BF will comment and tell you all exactly what happened and what that experience was like.
Then they joined us at the pool. We hung out in the poll until I pruned.
Oh yeah, the BF saw MARK GREEN, some local Long Island politician and he was really excited but I have no idea who it is.
We went back to the boat and changed and went out to eat. We had ice cream and walked around some shops. I wanted to get matching “Montauk the End” shirts but BF said it was gay.
Finally we left. The ride back was much shorter. We did miss the LIE but we made it back in like 2 hours. It was a fun but way tiring day.

JULY 4
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!
Today my brother is proposing to his GF. His plan is to get pulled over by a cop, get frisked, have him find the ring and propose. He pre-arranged it with the cop before.
So I spent all day preparing the food/table etc…
See pics below: (what do you think? it was all me and my other bro)

Table 1

BK Cups and Name Cookies

Table- Side View

Table 2

Tiered Cakes

All went as planned. So it was a nice night
MAZAL TOV BEN AND KIMMY!!!

JULY 5
I had to wake up super early to get to a meeting for my boss since he is on vacation still. I basically got 3 hours of sleep. Thank g-d for coffee.
I also finally finished the first spool of yarn for my scarf. The first knitting project I am doing and I went to the place to add on the next one. I cant wait to learn more. I hope to be able to finish and put up a pic soon.
Then I had din with the BF and his parents. That’s all, the four of us. It was nice. But the whole idea was what was weird for me. I had a good time. But I made it an early night since I was really tired.

JULY 6
I wish I got a better night sleep last night. I was tossing and turning because I had to wake up early and I was worried that I wouldn’t get enough sleep. So it made me not be able to fall asleep. Weird.
SPIKED PUNCH MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!!
So we play tonight. If we win we have the Championship right after. So I am praying for a double header. But if not, I won’t say the extra sleep isn’t welcome.

I hope this is enough to tide you over for now.

I was supposed to go to AC for the weekend, but as NJ is closed (not that I am not a little happy, I mean the whole state of NJ closed, BRILLIANT! [Sorry Marc] but it does ruin plans a bit) we may go to CT instead for forgo for another weekend. Who really knows?
