Excuses are for sissies

Lets face it, this will not be a daily blog again.

Deep breath, we can handle this.

Last night I did the best thing ever.

First I took a yoga class, which was good. She did a lot of stretching and I hoping to make it a regular thing because I need to learn how to slow down. Apparently it is not good for my health.

Then I took a step class. And I did double risers! LOVED IT!!!

I have a race this Sunday, its 4.8 miles and I want to finish in 40 min or less. Wish me luck.

Check out my new link. I get bored during work and its easier to surf than post. But I will try and get better.

Oh yeah.. Lewis was o.k. I mean he is Lewis so there is inherent awesomeness but it was not the best performance. I lost at the casino but the BF came back with a little extra cash.. lets see how he spends it :-)

I wish I were joking

What I learned at work today

FLEET WEEK

Thank you Nacho for reminding me. And in honor of this I will recount my week, since I have been a bad poster ;-(

Sunday May 21:
Mets v. Yankees @ Shea with the BF.
Not only did my Yankees lose, and not with dignity, but thank g-d it was only 9 innings. Has any one else noticed that it’s becoming the norm for games to go overtime? I mean look at this weeks 16 INNING game…. It was MIGHTY cold. So cold. We had nothing behind us in our section (no we were not high up) and the wind was crazy. Not even the free credit card blanket saved us.
Then we had to wait for the train for 45 minutes! Driving would have been faster, but parking would have sucked, and I was too tired to drive, and the most important thing, BF LOVES TRAINS!

Oh yeah.. tree boy got married!

Monday May 22:
G-d awful. BF played hooky from work, which was one of the smartest things he did. I had to go to Brooklyn for court in the a.m. then off to Queens for a conference in the p.m. I find my court time fun, if not exhausting.
My Brooklyn thing was scheduled for 9:30 I was done by like 9:45. Normally I am done around 11 and then I would go straight to Queens. Seeing as how I am a good employee and I was really on my boss’s dime I called him to ask if he wanted me to go back to the office and then head out to Queens. And the response was: [YET ANOTHER REASON I LOVE MY JOB]
“Go down to federal court, get an application for admission” I did and was done quickly. Called him back and he said, “Don’t you have a friend who works down there? Go find her, have lunch, take it easy, but make sure you are in Queens by 2:00” this was 11:00am. WOW!
So I found Shan at her office. In Bankruptcy court, which is beautiful!
We talked, I got a tour and then… WE WENT SHOPPING!!!! I got me a skirt and a pair of shoes!
Got starbucks and made it to Queens with plenty of time to spare.
Got back to the office at like 3:30.

I was dead tired, but I had a good day.

Cut class with Nacho because I needed sleep!

Went to bed at like 9:00. AWESOME!

Tuesday May 23:
Court again. At 11:30 but it was ok. After work went to the gym, then a shiur with my mom and early to bed, again.

Yesterday:
I had to be at work 6:45 am!!! For a networking meeting. It was fun. But I am seriously sleep deprived.

Court again. Seriously like it.
Met a guy I took my review course with, we chatted for a bit to pass the time. I got back to work at like 11:30.
Worked (i.e. made it look like I was working) and headed out at 5.

Got a pedicure at a new place near the BF’s house. It was really good.

Had din with the BF and his family, which he pointed out I had not done in a while. My bad. Then we went shopping for food for the weekend.

WE ARE GOING TO SEE LEWIS BLACK!!!!!

My Caffeine Consumption for May 24th 2006:
5:45 am- home, 1 cup of coffee (8oz)
6:15 am- bagel store on way to work, 1 cup Tea, with Caffeine (8 oz)
7:10 am- Meeting, 1 medium size coffee, (16 oz)
2:00 pm- Lunch Break- Dunkin Donuts medium Ice Coffee (16 oz)

SERIOUSLY WIRED!!!

Tonight we have a game against our team from last season.. I hope we at least take one game, and make em sweat, but I really just want to have fun.

Enjoy your holiday weekend.
I hope to have some pics and great stories for the after Black post :-(

Why Car Washes are Bad

Yesterday (I think) I got a car wash. It was a real deal $5 for my SUV exterior only. But Hey, not paying that $1.50-$3.00 SUV sur-charge is a bargain in my book.

So as I am driving to work today I almost got into an accident.

"Why?", you may ask...? Well because some bird flew into my windshield.
I attribute this to me stellar car wash, or more likely as is my luck, a retarded bird.

Anyway this story was merely a pre-amble to another apology for leaving you for a while.

It seems that now since I have gotten admitted and can stand up in court and do nothing, that has become my job.
There should be a limit to how many times a day one should be allowed to take a train, or at least be in Jamaica station. I am sure i would win or lose this contest, depending on your view.

E.g: yesterday I drove to work. Then took the train from work to Jamaica, transferred to the Brooklyn bound train. Got off at Flatbush Ave (BTW Nice stores, but apparently I learned not so safe) then took the subway to downtown Brooklyn.
Walked a few blocks and did my thing.
Took the subway back to Flatbush Ave, then the train to Jamaica. Did not transfer but instead, got o ut went to Court there did something else and went back to Jamaica Station and went to work. I almost went to Ronkoma, but alas common sense prevailed at the last instant.

This does not compare to the day before when I went to queens, came back to work then went to the city via train. That was for the volleyball, where we won 1/3 but should have taken all 3, the most important game is next week anyway, its when we play our old teammates, I hope we crush them!

Since its my first day in all week I have a lot to catch up on.

Hope you enjoyed.
Drop me a line.... :-)

Maybe Fat people shouldn’t….

I am in no way anti-fat people. What I do hate is people without common courtesy.
I was at D&D during lunch to try and get my caffeine fix. It was mostly full but there was one spot left. As I was turning into it, I saw that I could not go all the way to the front of the spot because the car door to the right way ajar.
So I honked, figuring someone was in the car and they just didn’t close the door.. (I am guilty of this sometimes)
NOT THE CASE!
There was no one in the car and the door was just open. Part of me wanted someone to steal it, but truthfully it was a hunk-o-junk.
Thankfully, someone else just left a spot so I got to park and go inside.
While inside I was watching the offending vehicle, and lo and behold it was a fat person. I say person, because I could not discern the sex based on outfit/body or face. How sad?
They had a ton of food!

So I am annoyed because they didn’t have the common courtesy to close their car door.

A funny thing happened on the way to Volleyball…

Last night I drove in to the city to pick up the BF who was picking us up food. The plan was to find parking near the gym and picnic near the park and then go play.

Well we happened to have found a clutch parking spot.

[Back track.. my Bro (not my actual bro) has vanity plates on his car. So you will always know its him. ]

We park and see his car across the street. So the BF says,” Hey, that’s Bro’s car”. I say, “ It’s the hospital, she’s giving birth!!! Call him!!!!” (His wife is prego and I knew she was due this week)

Lo and behold we call a bewildered bro, and he proudly tells us he has a new son. 20 inches and 8Lbs. Woo hoo, I am kind of an aunt.

Mommy and Baby are fine and I should have a name next week for you.

We hung out with them for like 15 min, because it was spur of the moment. But we did give them their first balloon,

Then we needed to eat before the food got too cold and before the game, with enough time so we didn’t get sick from playing.

Turns out the Hospital has a really nice garden pavilion, so we ate there, crossed the street and played.

Needles to say, we won 2/3!
GO SPIKED PUNCH!!!

Have a great weekend…

Ms. Lans ESQ thank you!

Yesterday made it official. I got sworn in NY!!!!
I am now a bonafide Attorney. No more of this "Admission Pending" after every signature line.
Maybe I can go to court now?

So it was held at the appellate division on Brooklyn. Which is a pretty courthouse and a really nice place, no parking but pretty outside.
They told us to be there at 11:45 and the ceremony would begin at 12:30. I would say there were about 50 or so candidates.
We all hung out in the "Lawyers Lounge" where they made some announcements.. my favorite, "don't stand with your knees locked and back straight, just relax, we have had people collapse and it becomes like domminos" so yeah sounds like fun.

They then usher us into the courtroom where our 2 or 3 guests depending on the amount of tickets you were lucky enough to procure. We faced the bench, with our backs to the guests, lovely photo's all of them. The clerk took attendance and congratulated us, made and made an announcement about flashes, which no one apparently understood. Then the Judges (5) came in, [did I mention we said the pledge of allegiance? I thought it was weird] an attorney from the Character and Fitness Committee made a motion for us to be admitted, of course it was granted, or as the presiding judge said, "we would have a revolution" the oath was given and then the head judge spoke to us for like 3 minutes. We stood the whole time.

Then the guests were asked to leave. We were allowed to sit and had to wait until they called our name to sign our name in the book of lawyers. (Pg #331 baby!)
Paid for our scrolls (which take 6-9 months to come!) and were on our merry way. All in all we started out at 10:30 and I was home at 3:00. Not bad.

Then I ran some errands with the G-ma.

The BF and I celebrated, we went out to a nice dinner, and then of course, as all great dates end... went to TARGET!!! It was nice. I got an Alarm Clock which I needed, but I cant really work it and its different than my old one (by different I mean it works and it is technologically up to date) and I miss my old one, but I guess I can deal. I will read the little booklet again.

Tonight the BF and I have our second V-ball game together, lets hope its better than last weeks...

SPIKE 'em BALLS!!!!
