New York, Chicago and Back Again

Another great date, not best date ever status, but for sure up there on a hypothetical list I have no made or contemplated.
The BF took me to Chicago City Limits, an improv comedy club. Now, not being a sketch comedy fan, I went with an open mind.
First we trained it from me. I have the best LIRR line ever! And walked the 20 or so blocks to the club, which had I not been in heels, I probably would have enjoyed much more, but it was nice. Good weather.
We get there and jockey around for seats, since the set up is kinda odd. Then it becomes little kid night. I am not a dirty joke or swear word kinda girl, but I enjoy the adult humor once in a while, and if we be talking about sponge bob and whoever else the whole night, I want my money back. So the BF goes and asks, and the say,"we wont' ET it up just because there are kids here" and they don't. Besides the fact I was spending time with you know who, I had a good time.
One of the sketches, they made songs about people in the audience. In order to do this, they asked them some questions. So one couple were Mark and Evelyn. They were both lawyers. So after the show I head on over and chat them up. Yes I really did. Turns out they are from Connecticut. So I inform them of my intention to take the CT bar in Feb. And he gives me his card and tells me to give him a call. So I be calling him this week. Who knows? Can you imagine if I get a job from going up to random people in a comedy club? That story could last a lifetime!

After the show, I can't decide if I am hungry or not. So we walk back to Penn Station, via time square. While walking we decide to be "tourists" So we stop into the Hershey store and take some pics. Then walk to Toys R US, but its closed. And finally go to see the View at the Marriott Marquis. Which was a huge deal, since its on the 49th floor and the BF not a huge fan of the heights.
On the way I see this older gentleman wearing these glasses that say 2006 in glitter. And I point them out. Then two seconds later I see this women wearing them. Thinking they must be giving these out somewhere, the BF asks where they got them from, and a conversation arises. Turns out they are a group of 6 older people from CA visiting NY for a few days. We chat and one of the guys asks if I have a sister, "because you are cute, and I would convert for you". This made my whole night. It was so sweet. Alas, I have no sisters, but that didn't stop me from pimping out the BF's sister ;-).
After all this walking and talking I was hungry. So we went to "The best Schwarma ever" Where I got a chicken sandwich and the BF had his favorite.
Then it was back to the train and eventually sleepy time.
What a journey.

Day off

Today is our day off. So I am running errands and then I have Chanukah Happy Hour with Sho and co, then I eat din with the girls and see a movie...

That was what was supposed to happen.
Turns out, the bed bath and beyond I wanted to go to closed and then the girls got tired and we didn't do the movie. But I got to give them all gifts and see Sho and Ray, so its all good.

I also forgot to mention that Nach's sister got engaged before I left for Canada. It's all very exciting and I saw Shan's house for the first time, and did I mention Ship went to Florida, I think to speak to Bad D's parents but I don't care. Just updating.

Tonight I have a Party at Bro's (not my real bro) and I am not sure who is going other than Marc and his wife. So I hope its fun. Also still up in the air re: new years so if you have any suggestions let me know.

I think I am done for now. I will let you know how the party turns out.

Best Date Ever 2

He has done it again. The best date ever! I don't know what he is going to come up with next but its going to be hard to top himself.
We went to see the Jets get clobbered by the Patriots. Now it's not really about who wins or loses, but the experience. It was my first live football game. Man was it cold, and so much more difficult to follow than on the TV. But I had the best time ever!
Thank you!

Here are some pics...

This is where we parked

We had great seats, under a thing, but it was still a tad bit chilly.

And then my camera battery died...

All in all a good night.

Pandora's Box

I have discovered that Pandora's box is turquoise with white ribbon. Why does a gift from this little shop reek havoc on the lives of those near it?

A few weeks ago, my other brother and I purchased a little trinket from the store for Kimmy. It was a congratulations for doing amazing on the DAT'S, getting into dental school, turning 21 and pretty much putting up with us for 3 years. She liked it. Or rather she acted liked she liked really really well.

Next, last night the first night of Chanukah my family exchanged some gifts, well the family on this side of the Atlantic. My brothers, got my mom a trinket from this same store. Now, I didn't care that they got it for her, I had purchased my own gift, which she loved as well. It was how much more she showed that she liked their gift that bothered me.

Lastly, the BF's parents, also purchased a trinket for me from said store. Now, it was very thoughtful for them to get me anything at all, but this was unexpected and unnecessary. And now it's a weird kind of feeling.

Why can't the givers rejoice in the feeling and the receivers delight in receiving. Why must the little pandora's box rule all? Its just cardboard and ribbon, does it really matter?

Tremblant 05'

Day One: Sunday December 18th 2005
Departure Time: 6:30am
Actual departure time: 8:30 am.
What happened-
This was the plan, Mo picks up Benj, and they go to the airport to get the rental car. This was to take place before 6:00am. Then Benj and Mo drive to the BF's. Then they come to me. By 6:30.
In reality, Benj and Mo didn't get to the rental place till 6:15 ish. Then by the time they got to me it was like 7 ish, then we had to pack the cars. This was an adventure.
After we went to get Farrah. On the way there, we realized we left the EZ-Pass for the rental car in my house. So we went back to get it. Now it is 8:30. We were supposed to pick someone up on the way up at 7:15 I think. So we are running late. Not to mention that everyone makes a bathroom stop at my house.
Now we are finally on the way, and David, the last guy is waiting at a Friendly's upstate for us. Already a great start.
We get to the Friendly's and make the switch, its all very very cool.
We make about a million stops on the way.

The Scenery from the road....

The requisite bathroom stops, and then gas stops and another special stop at a random mall.
After getting lost less than a mile away from the hotel, we finally made it there. Checked in and then went food shopping.
We BBQ'd on the balcony and then I had to go to sleep because I was tired, but some of them went out and checked out the town. They said they had fun...

Did I mention that there was a strike on the mountain? More on that when I do tomorrow...

Anyway, sleeping was another hurdle. The living room had a couch that folded out to a bed, then there was a room with a queen size bed. Upstairs (yes we had an upstairs) had another queen size bed with a couch that turned into a bed, and one of the guys brought a blow up bed. So The girls took the downstairs room and Benj and the BF had upstairs and Dave and Mo had downstairs.

The room:

Farrah snores. Big time. And it sounded like she was drinking all night. So weird. So I left and tried to sleep on two chairs in the kitchen. Turns out Mo also snores... Dave, had earplugs. So I went Upstairs, yes not only does Benj snore, but the BF too ! (Glad I found out now) So I slept on the stairs for a bit, then went back to the room and generally moved around a lot. Lets just say not so much sleeping happened.

Day Two: Monday December 19th 2005
Wake up was 6:30. We wanted to rent skis and find out what the deal was with the strike. We should have learned from the trip up, that timing is not our strong suit. I ended up first getting on the gondola (that's a fancy lift to the top of the mountain) at 11:15 am. I was not happy.

The stirkers from our window:

How did this happen?
Well first of all not everyone was so into being woken up at 6:30. So we didn't really make it out till 9 ish. Then we had to wait to rent, and that was a whole ordeal. We ended up splitting up. I didn't want those with skis of their own to miss out on some slope time. Besides, because of the strike the line was huge.
Yes, the strike. Turns out 1500 workers were on strike because they weren't getting paid enough. So 200 managers took over for them. Although everyone was super nice and really accommodating, still 200 people doing the work of 1500 doesn't do it.
So Me, Farrah and Mo did the rental thing and Dave, Benj and BF skied.
Lets say, I wish to never relieve that part of the day. It was very trying and annoying.
So we skied for a bit, went back to the room for lunch and ended up not going back on the slopes. Already I am not happy.

That night we decided to all go out and see what was going on in the town. Went to one of the bars, Farrah tried to pick up the Bar tender and Dave tried to get foreigners with a French saying written on his hand. [the night before he had gotten two numbers with out the saying] It was fun. Then four of us [me and the guys, Benj stayed with Farrah] went to another club to play fooseball (sp?) it fun, I am almost as good at that as I am at pool. So now we know my weak spots.
After we went back to the hotel, because frankly it was freezing and we didn't have coats, because you have to check your coat for $1 at the bars and we didn't want to.

Day Three: Tuesday December 20th 2005
Strike is still going strong.
We got a much earlier start today. I think we were on the slopes by 9 ish. Which isn't bad. The first gondola is 8:30 so we were happy. We skied. At some point Farrah got scared and couldn't do it anymore. BF and I got stuck holding her hand a little, so that run took forever. We went back to the room for lunch. She stayed behind (she had a massage appointment anyway) and the BF stayed in too, he was in pain. I went back with the rest of the guys and we did blues, which was awesome! I fell once, but thank g-d I didn't go to the clinic or need x-rays or anything.

Actually I fell because I was an idiot. We found this beautiful run that was all tree lined with very few people on it. And I was admiring the views, which were Stunning!, and skied into a pile of powder, got the skis caught and fell. Not bad.

The plan was to go to Montreal this evening and go to the Casino and hang out till we had to take Dave to the airport in the a.m. Turns out I got sick and so did Farrah, so the girls stayed in and the guys went out. We rented Elizabethtown the movie, thank g-d it was in English, but it still sucked. And the guys had a fun night, met some locals, and made it back safely around 6:30 am.

Day Four: Wednesday December 21st 2005
So I woke up at 7:30, and everyone was asleep. I went downstairs to breakfast, which was included in our room, along with a snack from 4-5. And had coffee and read the paper. Came back around 8:30. Took a nap and checked on Farrah at 9:30 to see if she wanted to come down to breakfast before it ended, she was alseep. Hung with the BF who was half asleep and finally woke Benj at 10:30 to go skiing. By noon we were on the slopes. In between I managed to snag Farrah one day off the ski rental and two days of the lift ticket, and the BF got two days off the lift ticket as well. Everyone else skied for 3 days for the price of 2. Not bad negotiating skills.
So we didn't have a real lunch since we started late. The plan was to ski till the slopes closed and then go tubing.
Turns out tubing was closed.
So we came back and had din. Then we all went out to celebrate Benj's b-day (not really) and have mudlsides. It was a fun last night together.

Our Mudslides: Day Five: Thursday December 22nd 2005
We were planning on going snowmobiling at 7:30. So we woke up early. Turns out you needed to reserve that time, because the office really doesn't open till 8:30. So that was out. Mo wanted to shop and do other stuff. We wanted to leave by 10. We left closer to 11:00. Farrah, BF and I went to breakfast and read the paper. Then we went upstairs and began the ordeal of packing everything up. This took forever!
Eventually we made it out alive.
The drive also took forever. And by this time I think we were all sick of each other. But I have to say there were no random French farmhouse stops, and I did not go hungry on the drive back, so it was all good. I scored some good Channel makeup at duty free for a great price and that's all the matters no?

On the way Home:

I got home around 11:00pm. That's a long day. Showered, unpacked and of course spoke to the BF on the phone. We were exhausted and I think I went to bed around 2:00am. It's so different to sleep in your own bed after so many days away...

I kinda miss the snoring and night terrors... NOT!
It was a great vacation. Thank for organizing it Studly!

I'm Baaaaack

Yes yes, we have come home. I am planning on an UBER blog about the whole trip, quite detailed and sure to be entertaining, but I am exhausted and need to clear my head before I can truly be of service to you. I will try and get it up [Ding] before the weekend. If not, at least its something to read while at work, and for those of you unemployed, both new and old, it'll give you a rest from me when you're getting sick of me. (what's that like 4 days?)
Should be a blast.

Oh Canada!

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,O Canada,
we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Yes, Yes, I am leaving in the morning for Canada. We are skiing. I should be back Thursday night. I am not sure what the internet situation will be, so this may be my last post for a few days.
Now, on my list of favorite places in the world Canada ranks up there with NJ. But its good times, I hope good food and friends. [Me, the BF, The Benj, David, Mo and Far]

Lets hope, I come back in one piece, I am known for hurting my self on the slopes ;-)

Domestic Things Josh Can Do

The BF is a man's man. He chops wood, fixes cars, skis, lifts weights, builds things from scratch etc.. But those are not his only talents, no no, he has a domestic side as well.

He can:
  • Make corn salad
  • Cook Broccoli
  • vacuum his room
  • make his bed
  • pick up the dry cleaning
  • Grocery shop
  • Make a mean sandwich
  • Set the table
  • Pump gas with and without gloves

But he also can't:

  • Find the salt
  • Cook anything other than the aforementioned [I had to] items
  • Fold or do laundry

I think the good outweighs the bad so I am going to keep him, if he'll have me after I publish this post. Besides I can cook and do laundry ;-)

Solo, Oh No!

Wednesday night, the family, which for those of you just joining us is, Me, Mom, Dad, Bro, Other Bro, Kimmy and the BF, went out to din to celebrate my passing the bar, and Kimmy getting into dental school and actually making a decision, I beleive we have decided on Columbia, can you believe I will know someone in Columbia Grad school (other than Sho, who we are way proud of, even thought she be going to rope some cow). Yes it took us a month to schedule this, since we are so busy. Actually my bro had a paper to write that night and I don't think he slept much. Anyway, I always wanted to go to Solo, bc I am foodie and love weird interesting food, and its hard to find that in Kosher. Well I have to say I really didn't like it at all. I mean I liked Shallots back in the day but between, service, and food quality and ingenuity it just wasn't worth it at all. And it is very rare that I say that. I should have to prime grill. (Yes I am a female who loves steak) But I liked being with the family. [As the BF said, "You guys are like your own little comedy troupe"

Last night, I took to the BF out for din to celebrate his last day of work and his beginning a new job. He is truly amazing, in the span of 1 week, he scored 5 amazing interviews, and got 5 offers, and even had a slight bidding war going for his services. He totally deserved some good food. Then we visit the Benj at his new digs. Which are cool. Gave him the bonsai, which I am sure is dead by now... and then braved the weather to drive home.

We dealt with some last minute ski trip stuff, but I am happy to say that I think it will go great and I am really looking forward to it, other than the fact that I can not afford it. (I assumed [I guess the saying is correct] that I would have a job by now..)

Packing, cleaning, errands, have a great weekend!

Making History

I am a huge Aaron Karo fan (see link to the right).
A few months ago a bunch of us went to see one of his shows in NY.
He sends out a column every few weeks and this week this was in it...

"I did notice one particularly salient trend in my travels – people tend to get blindingly drunk at my shows. For example, the guy in the audience at Emory who, when I asked him what his zodiac sign was, responded, “I don't even know what's going on right now.” But that doesn’t compare to the chick who got so housed at my show at the New York Improv that, after being asked to leave by the club manager, turned around and clocked the manager in the face. Four cops arrived on the scene, arrested her, cuffed her, and took her away in a police car as the crowd cheered her removal. Only one word could describe my reaction to someone getting that fucked up: Impressed."

WE WERE THERE!!!! It was amazing!!!!

I just had to share. It's amazing when you make internet history.

I heart pathmark

So I had to finish the ski prep alone. I decided to go to pathmark, even though its farther away I decided the savings would be worth it. And boy was I right!! It's amazing. I loved it. I looked through the circular, went up and down every aisle. I called my mom at work to tell her we should shop there more often. Now I can not vouch for all pathmark's but rather the one I went to in New Hyde Park.
The only problem is that all the pathmark brand foods have an OV and not an OU. What the heck is an OV?
I even got the pathmark advantage card. Super savings!!!

Then the problems started. I went to the self check out. Now I have done this before at stop and shop and I like it. I checked to make sure it was working and that I could use a credit card all good. I failed to see the 12 items or less sign (yes yes, I know it should be 12 items or fewer, but I don't make the signs, and I kinda like that it pisses Shippy off). So I had a problem. Apparently the way it works is based on weight, so you scan the item and put it in the bag, which is on this scale. And if you don't it makes an annoying sound saying, "please place the item in the bag" and if you don't, you cant scan the next item. So I had more than 12 and was trying to maneuver, when the cashier lady came to help. I told her it was my first time, and I was sorry I didn't see the 12 sign, she said its ok and told me to take a bag off and she would override it from her computer. Then she switched with another cashier lady, who yelled at me for taking the bag off. I told her the other lady told me to take it off and she went off on me. Thank g-d the lady next to me vouched for me. It was sad, you would think passing the bar I would be able to check out of pathmark, but apparently it is a different skill set.

Besides this little mishap, I managed to get almost everything on the list so I was happy and it was pretty cheap too. I can't wait to go back.

Fun Tuesday

I was supposed to have my last volleyball game tonight, but the other team forfeited (little did they know we were going to do the same) but it's better they did, because now we have 5/28 wins! Still in last place, but gosh darn proud of it! ]

Instead I went to court with my bro today to make sure he didn't get slapped with a fine/and or jail for avoiding jury duty. The guard actually recognized me so I felt good.

Then came home, fixed the cable. I had a black out over the weekend. Correction Kimmy, blew a fuse in my room and my cable went all screwy so I didn't get all my channels. So I finally called the cable people and fixed it. Then I looked for more jobs and polished the writing sample.

Went out to run some errands. Got only some of them done. I got ski gloves, some socks and tights. Pants that were too tight and I am going to return tomorrow. I realized I need a new ski jacket and leggings. Maybe I go to ski stop tonight, they are open till 9pm.
Once again I tried to get a pair of pants hemmed, and still no parking, so tomorrow the other bro is coming with.

Went to the library. I took out a Jon Stewarts Book, America. I am hoping it will be useful on the ski trip. Oh yeah I started packing for the trip. I am trying to pack in one bag. Since space is limited.

Annoyed the BF all day. Its not really my fault. See I use gmail, and they have this new thing that alerts you when you have new mail. Its so cool. So my reply time is like zilch...

Searching for things to keep me occupied that don't cost money...

Why I really Need a JOB

Another top ten list:

10. $ $ $

9. Its the next step...

8. Everyone else is doing it. I give in to peer pressure

7. Jan 26th 2006. First student Loan payment due.

6. I have no more space in my closet or room for the crap I purchase online, albeit on sale. Still no room.

5. Its just so cool to have business cards.

4. If I don't, I know I will forget everything that I "learned" in law school, and then hell would have been a HUGE waste.

3. Did I mention $ $ $ ?

2. Howard is gone and Booker is at nights, my days are now free to concentrate on a job.

And the number one reason I need a Job:

1. The BF may break up with me if I keep annoying him during business hours out of sheer boredom.

Yes, I do have time for a job...

And in case those weren't enough...

11. A job would give me so much more to blog about. See I am always thinking about others....

Winter Weight

I am developing a theory. Winter Weight. Every animal has a characteristic that enables them to live through the cold harsh winter.
Bears sleep, Russians have vodka (cmon Ray you know its true) and I have winter weight. I think no matter what i do or try I will till be 3-5lbs more than I was in the summer. Its my body's way of keeping me warm and enabling me to survive winter. Now this is not to say that I am happy with my summer weight, that is another post all together. But I need to figure out a way to make my body aware of the inventions of down, wool and thinsulate.
Its frustrating to me. I am sure I am not the only one.
I keep active and exercise and I don't eat excessively (no matter how much I want to). It doesn't help that no one looks good in puffy coats, and sweaters, but some pull it off better than I do. And frankly it pisses me off!

Keeping warm, the way nature intended...

Good Luck Law Students

I may have graduated, and lived to tell. And passed a bar, but I still have friends in Hell, I mean law school. So good luck to you on your finals, papers, clinics, job search etc... And here is something to make you laugh:

http://heygundy.50megs.com/serenade.htm

Weekend Update

As usual I had a busy weekend.

Sho is going to Texas! So she had a goodbye lunch. Marylou picked me up and we went to the heights together. Fri night was din with Ray and the crew. It was nice. Then we went to a oneg, it was ok.
Lunch as like 25 people and do I have a funny story for you!
So I was sitting on a couch and this guy sits next to me. I say, "Hey I'm Lans, what's your name?" He tells me and then gets up and leave so fast. Later, when its just the girls Ray goes, "Why did you re-introduce yourself?" I was speechless. Turns out I went out with him last year! I felt so bad, and this has never happened to me before, ever.

Sat night the BF and I went back to the outlets. He picked me up from the heights. (I love not driving) His mom called and asked me to get her some sweaters, turns out they were the ones I was trying on. So we have the same sweaters in different colors, but the same size. I think it's weird, but I had them first!

Then we went to Chinese and back to my house. He met Kimmy, which is always fun.

Sunday I went to step and then more shopping with the BF. This time is was for Ski prep. We wont go hungry but I have no idea how 3 sets of ski's, 6 people's bags and all that food is going to fit into our two cars....

It's always an adventure with us (since we dressed alike again, and No Nacho it wasn't planned, you didn't miss a choreography meeting!)

Relationships

Everyone puts on masks. The point of dating and being in a relationships is to hang out until the masks come off and you see the real person. This takes time. You need be comfortable and relaxed. Each person is different. Some people claim they don't have this. That they are the same no matter what. Then some people take 2 dates to open up and others 3 months. Its an individualized process I get that. That doesn't mean I cant be frustrated. Frustrated with myself! Ok example #1, Nacho, my best friend. Now we are way closer now than we were 11 years ago. (Yes it has been that long!) but we are still evolving and growing. Each new experience just changes us. Now if that happens with her, imagine the turmoil I am going through with the BF.

I have known him almost as long as Nacho. Granted, not in the same capacity, but still. Now part of me is annoyed that I don't feel as comfy or relaxed around him. And yet part of me is glad, because it has only been like 5 weeks and I am deathly afraid of going to fast. Since neither of us knows what the heck we want. I don't think rushing is the key to success here. And I know he feels similarly. The question is what to do? Spend more time together? Yes and No. Yes, that would be nice, but we would also get sick of each other. No, because he works too much and is tired. I mean even tonight, I haven't seen him since Sunday and he came over tonight, and has to go to work in the am. So I made him stay a little longer and I felt bad. But also I don't see him as much as I think I would like. It's weird. I cant seem to strike the right balance. Plus, always being afraid of screwing up (yeah a life of crappy relationships will do that to you) probably isn't the best combo.

So I turn to you. First it helps to get it out. Second I figure someone has to have some idea out there. You can do it anonymously. But still, I cant be the only to be struggling with this, or to have ever struggled with it.
Granted I realize, this may have been a long and unclear ramble to which I apologize, but if you managed to sift through and glean anything, I am happy.

Thinking hurts my brain, but its a pain that is necessary...

BON JOVI!!!

So yes the time had come. The Bon Jovi concert was upon us. I was going with Nacho, Josh Sh, and his friend Michael. We were meeting, Marylou, her sis, her friend and Arielle. This was the plan. The concert was at 7:30. Nacho had sold my other two tkts to her friend. So we were going to meet at 7. Josh and his friend took the train to me, and we went together to the concert. We got there early and hung out in the car, bc it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cold. It turns out the girls were late. Which I have to admit pissed me off. So I vented to the BF he was great. His sis was the concert too, but I never saw her, maybe she was making out with the band ;-)?
Finally we went in... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING!!!
Seriously a great concert.
I mean 15,000 people singing Livin on a Prayer.. it was unbelievable! I even bought a shirt. Which Josh Sh says he never thought I would have purchased. (See pic of shirt below)
Anyway our seats weren't the best and not the worst. At one point Jon, as in Jon Bon Jovi, like stood on a platform and it was on our side so that was great.
Then he walked through crowds and was like hugging people and stuff. It was sweet, it was a slow song, and I cant tell which one now, but roses were involved. So he like danced with this girl and hugged her, so Josh Sh said, "That women will now never be satisfied by a regular man" it was funny, but true. However sexy Mr. Jovi is, he isn't that great of a dancer. Which is ok, bc I mean he's Bon Jovi. They were amazing. I could gush all night.. But I will spare you.
So here are some pics. Sorry they aren't better. I will try and get some from Marylou to post. She had better seats.

Some pics. I hope they convey how amazing it was!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARC

So it's Marc's bday. I couldn't not acknowledge that in the blog since him and his wife are avid readers. I hope you had a good one!

City

The BF's mom is encouraging my shopping habit. She gave me the inside scoop on the echo sample sale which is this week. So my mom and I went into the city to check it out.
We got much needed rain hats and some gloves, scarves and hats.
Then I used my time in the city to drop off some of the papers for the NY character and fitness people.
We had lunch (Circa, Best salad ever!) and came home.
I watched way too many episodes of I love the 80's on VH1 (that show is addictive!)
Then I went to step with Cara. Trinity isn't doing it anymore so we had Sue. But she was good.

And upon my finishing the class.. The BF has worked a miracle! The ski trip is on! I am psyched!!!

Oh and tomorrow night.. BON JOVI CONCERT!!!!!

I have two more tkts left, if you want them, leave me a comment $60 each, section 301 row E.
Not next to me, but next to Jen the Asian girl and her Bf, seems nice.

So excited!!!!

One more thing about Folding

I forgot to add one thing to my folding rant http://lanspeaks.blogspot.com/2005/12/folding.html

Tissues. Maybe I am the only one who does this, but for some reason, no matter how thick or big or small or thin the tissue is, before i blow my nose, I fold it. Is that weird?

Cast of Characters Take 2

So much has happened in my life i need to add some characters...

Bro(Not my actual bro) back in High School I had two guy friends that I was really close to. The three of us used to hang out a lot. So much so, that two of us called each other Bro and Sis, I am not really sure the origin of this, but it stuck. He is now married and they are expecting! But we are still tight. He's also friends with the BF so I am sure he will come up a lot more now.

Benj I have also known him since High School. We are friends, and last year we were on the same ski trip together. He is the BF's best friends so of course he is going to be spoken about much much more.

Kimmy I have tried to not discuss her but alas it can not be avoided anymore. She is one of my bro's GF's. She's cute and I like her, besides I always wanted a sis.

BF's Family. He has a bro and a sis and of course a mom and dad.

Stay tuned for more characters in my lovely life <3

Weekend Update

I had a such an interesting weekend...

FRIDAY
I decided to finally go to the Dr. She gave me something for my sinuses. A new type of antibiotic. She told me a side affect would be some stomach stuff.
I took the medicine at like 3 in the afternoon. By 4 I had double and blurry vision, and couldn't stand. My mom read the little sheet that came with the drugs and those were the side affects listed. Why didn't my Dr tell me? Then the worst migraine I ever endured. My Dr had told me I could take sudafed non-drowsy with the meds if I was still congested. I wasn't. All I wanted was tylenol. I cried, it hurt so much. Finally at 10:30 I could not endure it so I took tylenol. I was so worried I would become unconscious and that when the ambulance came no one would know that I took tylenol, that I stayed up till 4 am to make sure I was ok. Then I went to sleep. I did consider waking up my brother to tell him, but I figured he would just fall asleep and not remember.
After this I didn't want to take them again. I was supposed to take them for 5 days. My mom convinced me it would be better the 2nd day.

SATURDAY
Tonight is the big double date. Seeing as I did not have a great reaction to the meds yesterday I decided to take them early so that by night I would be better.
I took them at like 9 am. Went back to sleep. Woke up at around 12. Then the vision things occurred. But it wasn't as bad and no headache.
We had some guests for lunch so I didn't really get a nap, but I finished my book (Memoirs of a Geisha, sooooooooooooooooo good! Can't wait for the movie and I may be able to convince BF to go!)
Finally Saturday night. Me, BF, Bro(not my real bro, but my friend from High school.. I will explain more in another cast of characters post) and his wife, who is prego! Hung out. It was so much fun.
First we met for pizza and had fun there. Then went to New Roc city. We watched the guys play chicken with the bumper cars, then the women rocked in air hockey, and as a result the men danced in the Asian video game. Its really a draw which one was better, but of course my alliance is to the BF. Then we played pool. Which, I suck at. And as the BF says, "At least I found something your not good at" Yeah, I like him, cause he thinks I'm great :-)
Then it was 3 hours of sleep to get up and....

SUNDAY
that's right bright and early (7:30am) in the snow we were off to go shopping with the family. Now I know how to shop and I know discounts, but this was the retail day of my life! I can not even begin to put into words. Lets just say I had a great day and I cant wait for the next one. [I even ate lunch with the fam!, they may like me ;-)]
After Woodbury commons we went to get Josh(AKA BF) skis.
It was a good day. He got shoes, I got gifts... Good day.

Now I am home, and watching my Sunday night TV (not from camp Shpayher so sad) since the roads are bad (so says Mom) and I took the drugs which make me loopy..

Trying to pay attention to my TV shows, probably have to download them and re-watch... Any takers for round 2?

And the winner is...

I am not sure.
I went to the Dr, where I had to wait over an hour to be seen, and she did the usual. I got anti-biotics for a sinus infection. And she said I am not as bad as I usually get, which is true. Mainly because, since I am unemployed I sleep more, and I decided not to wait two weeks until I cant see, hear or breathe to go to the Dr.
I take these pills, 2 of them together, once a day for 5 days. Its new she says. And better than Zythromax, since I seem to be immune to that... Lets hope for the best, bc really this sucks.

FUNNY STUFF
For those of you who do not personally know Ray, you don't know her issues with planes. See anytime she flies anywhere it is always an adventure. Nothing goes smoothly and I can always count on a good story.
Today is no different. She is flying (I hope) to Ottawa for a wedding. Now she was supposed to leave last night, but in true Ray fashion her flight was cancelled. Now they cancelled it bc of the snow and apparently it was a small plane and they moved everyone over to big planes. Good. But she is flying to Toronto and then to Ottawa. In the event it snows, she is stuck in Toronto. So what does she do? Calls our friend Dov, who is from Toronto and asks to stay at his house (he lives in NYC) for the weekend. Weird, but ok, and totally Ray.
The wedding is on Sunday and I hope she makes it. (I can ask the BF's bro, since he's driving to the same wedding)
As of now I have no idea where she is. I sent her a text msg to try and locate her but it was unanswered. I am taking that to mean she is in the sky and I hope she makes to Ottawa today.

I will keep you posted on her situation and of course my illness...

Until then, fly well and be well.

Me vs My Cold

So I am taking bets. I don't do odds, because frankly I don't get them. But I am sure Marc can comment and explain odds and spreads to us.
So I started feeling ill Monday. And I have been self healing since then. Obviously I am not a Dr. And know nothing. So I decided its time for the Dr. I have an apt today at noon. Lets see what she says. Part of me wants it to be treatable with anti-biotic bc then by tom night I wont be contagious. But part of me doesn't really want to be sick... I guess I have no control.

Also I took my car in bc it needed oil change and the service engine soon light when on. Something is wrong with my gasket. Not really sure what it is. But its almost $1000 to fix. Which ya, I don't have... so there is another fun part of my day.

Not to mention I am worried about the BF. He has so much on his mind, he is not himself and there really isn't anything I can do. Which doesn't make it easier... Who knew having too much of a good thing could make a person crazy? I guess the Bernstein Bears did (too much candy, too much birthday etc.. get the books they are fun)

I am not taking drugs before the Dr because then I cant tell her what's wrong. So I am off to make another cup of tea...

Folding

You can tell a lot about the evolution of man based on what we fold and what do not.
Ever see that commercial where the kid and dad are eating a peanut butter sandwich and the dad folds it over and the kid does the same? Well today I found myself folding my sandwich. Now if that's not great advertising I don't know what is. I have never done this before. (its possible my being sick has made me a little human deprived and too much on TV) I always make my sandwich with a top.

Next, people don't fold pizza anymore. Remember when you used to get a slice and fold it in half to eat it? Well now, people either hold it out with both hands or, ala seinfeld, use a fork and a knife!

Underwear. Yes people are very particular about how their briefs are folded. Heck, I know those who send them out, or even press them. What does it say about us as a people if we iron and fold our underwear???

I don't even want to get into socks! Forget balling them up like grandma used to, no no, that will ruin the elastic. They get folded, and yes the same people who iron their underwear also iron their socks. I know I know, these people should be shipped off somewhere to live amongst themselves (NJ?) but alas, they live among us!

So if you or someone you love is one of these people, please seek help. Or the rest of us will suffer.

How Many?

Today I am conducting an experiment. How many cups of Tea can someone of my size drink in a day? So far I am up to 3 (with 2 cups of coffee not included) and I don't use regular standard cups. But rather super industrialized mugs. Its war with me and the tea pot.
I am trying to get better ASAP bc it sucks to be sick. I am also off drugs. (Although I gave in to Tylenol PM last night, that could be why I woke up closer to 9 than my usual 7-7:30, but that does not compare to BF's 5:45 am. Yes you win!) '

I have spent my morning looking for and applying to jobs. My cousin is a 3L in a law school which shall remain nameless, but let us just say, it's one of those where you utter the name and you are insured an interview. So she has lent me her log in stuff to look through their job postings. (Thanks Jule!) They are way better than what my school gets. So I applied to 3 so far and I have three more to do today. Tomorrow I will look at me school and then its back to her's on Monday, in addition to the plethora of other vehicles I use. That is not to say that nepotism is beyond me nor good old fashion networking, so if you know of anything once again I ask that you be kind and "pay it forward".

I have volleyball this evening and I want to go, but I am debating it. What do you think?
I still need to notarize the BLEEPin CT bar application and mail it. Plus other random errands... I guess only the day can tell...

Enjoy the afternoon, it's Thursday, one day away from Friday!
